Resurrection

No, we're not discussing the merits of whom to resurrect first, the tank, the dps, or the healers (Healers, duh!) I've just dropped by to inform the 3 or 4 people who still occasionally check this blog that I am indeed still alive (cue that catchy song from Portal.)

I haven't touched the Paladin much since my return, as I am in dire need of gold, and grinding dailies while Holy Spec doesn't seem like the 'funnest' way to make my return to the game after 6+ months of being inactive. However, tragedy DID strike on my return. An account I purchased from a WoW quitter at School was recently snatched away from me, from the same person I purchased it from. I know that sentence is worded horribly, so let me break it down in simpler terms:
  • Guy at school quits WoW
  • I buy the account off him for 20 bucks for my GF (Now ex-GF), whom some of you may remember I was trying to get into WoW. I figured, 20 bucks, that's better than 50, especially if she doesn't get into the game.
  • Unfortunately, the account owner's e-mail couldn't be changed to my own, and by the time I realized that I no longer had a way to contact the guy I bought the account from.
  • 2 years later, the guy decides to get back into WoW, guess he remembered his old account and requested his password back.
  • Yup, I lost the account. He snitched it back from me, and ran off with a few bank alts full of herbs, ore, gems, and other handy dandy stuff. He also has two bank alts filled with Fireworks and Fish, amusingly enough.
  • Overall, I am upset. Not because I lost the account, or the stuff, but because I procrastinated in returning to WoW and purchasing a guild bank so I COULD get all those valueables off the secondary account and onto my primary account. Oh well... thems the breaks.

Anyhow, with that story aside. Hopefully you can expect some more Horde Paladin insight, or even just general WoW insight from me. Maybe even some Undead Rogue perspective, or maybe a Female Gnome whom RP's on a PvP server (Friends wanted me to play on their server as Alliance, RPing on a PvP server can only bring hilarious results.) So, stay tuned, and expect some great stuff! :)

I got picked up by a blog community...

Where have I been lately? Well, recently I've had a pretty busy month so very little time for WoW or WoW related blogging, but there is so much amazing stuff going on! Death Knights, 2.3 Patch, and all that good jazz. My Karazhan also recently exploded upon itself which sort of sucks (I'd like to write about that in the future.)

Anyhow, my Wii Blog was recently picked up by DBN, a small community of gaming bloggers. It's nothing super or amazing but the ownership is making an effort to turn it into something professional. I'm also working on a video blog related to some happenings around my city.

So, in short, I just wanted to say:

"I'm not dead!"

You can all relax now.

Man, I can't even begin to ramble about how fucking amazing this is. Anyhow, long story short, one of my fellow bloggery type people (you can read about her here) makes awesome little 'monster dolls' as they call them, well, I asked how much it'd cost to get one made and if I remember right she only charged me the shipping for it, which is TOTALLY awesome. Anyhow, here it is, my own personal stuffed Valkors, he's so fucking bad ass!

If you're interested in the awesomeness of getting a doll crafted for yourself you can contact Nicole here. There's no guarantees you'll get one though, she might be swamped as far as I know.

BBQ Pictures pt. 1

Overall, you guys probably won't understand most of the inside jokes and what not, but I figured you'd enjoy seeing my 'unaltered' photos from the BBQ I went to last month. I'll probably be posting more as the days go by.

The girls were having a vagina party inside the living room apparently. I'm not exactly sure what a Vagina party is, but obviously Wolfsoul was invited.

I think somebody spiked the punch or something because my vision was really blurry.

Evi, like all great mages, couldn't control her ability to start critting people for massive damage.

OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!

Things got a little hectic, apparently Archaeus wasn't using his Perception racial because immediately after this picture he was ganked by Arilaw.

Like the mighty Grom Hellscream, even Wolfsoul fell prey to the bloodlust at the BBQ.

There was little doubt at the BBQ when it came down to figuring out who was Keldath.

Ovatha felt less embarrassed after he realized all his fellow shaman came in costume as well.

OR

When questioned Kolaghaz informed everyone that Ghostwalka let him borrow his Troll ears.

OR

Everyone felt a little less nerdy after they realized Lelek crafted his own Mangina suit out of chainmail.

During the Rogue photoshoot, Valkors had to give away his identity as Sylvina the Paladin while bubbling out of a potential ass grab from Arilaw.

WARNING THE FOLLOW PHOTO WILL CAUSE DRAMA AS IT'S THE BIGGEST SCANDAL IN BLACKFANG HISTORY!

Clinically Wiitarded

So, out of curiosity everyone might be wondering where I've been lately. Well, I've been very busy with real life, and outside of that I just got my hands on my Wii within the last week. If you're interested in checking out some good reviews of Wii related materials and other such things from yours truly please do head on over to Clincally Wiitarded.

On the WoW side of things It's been going fairly well, I just haven't had anything major to write about, although the changes to some of the paladin buffs do indeed irk me. If you are unaware of some of the changes:

- Blessing of Freedom recieved a minor talent nerf due to Arena.
- Blessing of sacrifice recieved a major cooldown nerf due to Arena.

On the plus side of things:

- 5 minute buffs will now be 15 minute buffs.
- 15 minute buffs will now be 30 minute buffs.

The Girlfriend Chronicles: Temporary Hold

Currently I'm single, it's kind of up in the air what the future holds, but we're still friends. So, instead of turning this into an angsty LiveJournal post I just figured I'd inform you all in case you were curious how that particular mission was going. However, I'm still trying to persuade her into WoW as her friend now, so instead of Girlfriend Chronicles it can be thought of 'The Non-WoW Playing Female' chronicles or something of that sort.

Question of the Day: Rape? Gay? Mangina?

WARNING: If you are offended by any of the following terms, are homophobic, or just close minded, please stop reading this topic right now.

With that being said, recently BRK, a fellow blogger whom I respect, has joined a guild called 'Sap Girls Can't Say No'. What is my personal impression? It makes me giggle a bit, maybe I'm immature, maybe I don't know somebody who was raped IRL, maybe I think it's a clever usage of words. The fact of the matter however is, that people are going to get offended and it will reflect poorly upon him as a professional (he writes for WoWInsider.)

So, I ask this to you all, for the hot topic debate of the century, do you find the words 'rape', 'gay' , and 'mangina' offensive when used as a slang term outside of the realm of 'Sexual Assault' and 'Homosexual'.

Examples:
"That Son of Arugal totally raped me."

"The Shade of Aran fight is so gay."

My personal opinion is that It REALLY doesn't bother me and I think people over react. Also, I'm bi-sexual so when people say "omg, that's exactly what a straight white male would say." I can only laugh a little bit, maybe I'm being disrespectful of the 'gay community' or whatever, but I really think that people go overboard way too much about getting offended. My personal stance is that words can evolve, and just because we associate 'gay' with homosexual doesn't mean we can't associate it with something else years down the road, the same goes with 'rape', primarily it sticks out as a big 'sexual assault', but it can also mean to pillage/plunder/humiliate/etc. a long the lines of "Raping the countryside." which in terms you could "Rape a Son of Arugal." by utterly decimating him and pillaging his loots.

So, in short, do these words offend you? What about words like mangina and my newly coined female version? If so, how do you react to them within the in-game world, do you ignore the person, rip them a new one, or what?

Ever wish you could turn back time?

Someone on our server recently passed away. I only knew the guy here and there and in PuGs. However, I feel horrible simply not not knowing him. All of the wonderful things that were said about this person (there was a forum post about it) and I didn't have anything worth saying at all. He came to one of our MC runs once, and we all joked privately about how he sounded high and or if he was high, (Apparently he always sounded like that and was a recovering drug addict.) We didn't hate the guy, he was fun and such, but it was that simple idea of the fact that he was indeed some sort of 'noob' or 'sucked at his class' or 'was always high while playing' or whatever.

I let the opportunity to make a friend slip through my fingers. I had the chance, but due to my own jerkfaced attitude of assuming he 'wasn't a good player' I never had much of an opportunity to get to know him. I just hope by bringing something like this to light that everyone can realize that there are people behind the keyboards and not just 'avatars'. Get to know your fellow players, whether they're good or they suck, perhaps give them some pointers or just go out of your way to know them. Remember, the human interaction they have with you, may just be the last human interaction they have in their life, make it a positive one.
